He glances over and then walks off, leaving Shirley who then drives off, knowing the relationship is over. Shirley watches Michael interacting with his family. Shirley talks about how it was a unique moment in an otherwise ordinary life. Shirley then discovers that her own father was having sex with Nadine. With Nadine almost falling off, Jerry pulls her back after beating up the man in the vehicle. They soon arrive and Jerry finds Nadine and gives her to Shirley and Melissa who then threaten to throw her off a building. She hears that Nadine is babysitting without her knowledge and calls Melissa, who is with Jerry, and they go to confront her. She then tries unsuccessfully to contact Brenda. Michael tries to encourage Shirley to run away with him, while Shirley reminds him that this is just business and he's cheating himself. Michael's wife confronts him about his distance and that he has been lying about his job situation and Michael finally voices some of his frustrations about the marriage, while Gail responds with hers. Shirley finds out and confronts Melissa at lunch and gets upset. Melissa has several of their customers attack and threaten Brenda's brother. Later at school, Brenda decides she wants to quit and Shirley agrees but Melissa is worried that Brenda will talk. Jerry has supplied drugs at the party and attempts to rape Brenda. Michael is uncomfortable with Shirley being with other guys at the party. The girls will be going under the make-believe of a school trip, while the men will be there on a "business retreat". Melissa presents Shirley with fake permission slips for a trip to Jerry's cabin for a weekend. Shirley then tells Nadine to stop going behind her back and doing business without her permission and that she gets twenty percent of all their cuts. During the assembly Shirley calls the girls to the band room to discuss the issues. The next day everything was destroyed, which called for a mandatory assembly. They trash the school to hide their true motive. With Michael 'on watch', Shirley and Melissa search Nadine's locker but find nothing. Shirley confronts Brenda and Brenda agrees to search Nadine's room. She soon starts her own competing business behind Shirley's back, and Shirley starts to lose customers. Problems arise when Brenda invites her rough and aggressive younger stepsister Nadine (Halley Wegryn Gross) into the group without checking with Shirley. Michael learns that Shirley is babysitting for others besides him, which makes him uncomfortable and upset. They convince their friend Brenda ( Louisa Krause) to take the babysitting job as well and the girls set up a working business, going so far as to have business cards printed up. Shirley asks her for 20% of the money as her cut to which Melissa agrees. Michael asks Shirley if any of her other friends can "babysit" and her friend Melissa volunteers. Melissa (Lauren Birkell) discovers the truth about babysitting outings from Shirley and Michael tells Jerry about it. They come to the conclusion that they couldn't do that anymore, but Michael pays Shirley extra. When Michael is driving Shirley home that night, they stop at the train yard and explore it, eventually sharing a kiss. Gail is frustrated that Michael wants to take it, while Michael gets curious about an abandoned train yard behind the restaurant that Gail shows no interest in. Michael and his wife Gail (Nixon) meet with Michael's friend Jerry (Comeau), who has a business offer for Michael. Michael is frustrated with his wife and Shirley finds guys her age to be too immature. After she is finished, they dine together and flirt with each other. A flashback takes us to Shirley being picked up by Michael Beltran (Leguizamo) for a babysitting job. In voice over, Shirley Lyner (Waterston) introduces her babysitting service, a cabin with middle-aged men and teenage girls. The story follows a teenager who turns her babysitting service into a call girl service for married men after fooling around with one of her customers. It stars John Leguizamo, Katherine Waterston and Cynthia Nixon, with Andy Comeau and Denis O'Hare. The Babysitters is a 2007 independent drama film written and directed by David Ross.

In a Facebook group where more than 4,000 people have gathered to organize events like Kennedy-branded Fourth of July parades, members have been workshopping possible appositives for their candidate, settling most recently on “Vaccine Safety Advocate.” But they’d really prefer to avoid the issue, as one poster put it, “by sticking to Kennedy’s campaign points as much as possible.” Kennedy’s supporters have gotten the message. Kennedy shows his command of his dogs, who obediently sit at attention, waiting for a treat. He flicks three treats into the air and the dogs snap up their rewards. Something about the way the dogs are perched, salivating, their trusting eyes glued to Kennedy, reminds me of the way the world has recently been gripped by conspiracy theories - many of which Kennedy has helped spread: ones that imagine clouds as government-sprayed chemicals, cellular networks as surveillance plots - and lifesaving vaccines as poison. If you don’t give the animal a treat every time, it actually makes them more obedient.” “It’s something called an intermittent reward system,” Kennedy, noticing my discomfort, explains of the lapse. “Some people (find them) when they are metal detecting, or they might go to a flea market and someone is selling them there.” She receives several emails a month, the most recent about tags belonging to Korean War and World War II vets. Given the expression above the resulting match of a filename "BayTower_zip_4500.txt" will be "zip_4500". Let's start out with a simple expression: The normal characters are interpreted as they are while the metacharacters have special meaning. This page will try to give you basic knowledge about the use of regular expressions in the context of file renaming.Ī regular expression contains normal characters and metacharacters. Those learning this for the first time will also be able to use the skills in other similar tools. A standard library called PCRE is used which means that people with prior knowledge of this library will feel right at home. The use of these expressions is primarily meant for power users and people with programming experience but none the less gaining knowledge of the basics will prove to be very rewarding. Advanced Renamer supports the use of regular expressions for pattern searching and replacing in several methods. While in Presets just type a minus symbol “-“ to remove from Presets.A regular expression language is a powerful way of manipulating with texts. It turned out I needed to install an additional software component in order for SlimScan to convert the files to readable files, and PlanOn suggested I upgrade the software running on the actual scanner as well. The PlanOn software on my laptop would only recognize the files when I renamed them with a JPEG extension. I initially had some trouble transferring files from the scanner to the SlimScam file-management system. The software doesn’t work on Macs, so in order to test it I installed the software on a laptop running Windows 7. PlanOn’s software for the SlimScan, which is installed straight from the device, was confusing at first as well. The first few images I scanned were cut off or missing lines of text as a result of this. I found that with the SlimScan, I had to have a slow, steady hand as I was rolling the device across a file, or the images wouldn’t scan properly. When I removed the bottom portion of the stainless steel device to start scanning, I felt like I might break it. I had to dig my nail into each button to press it down. The SlimScan has five tiny unmarked buttons, and I had to read the instruction manual to figure out which one was the power button, which is never a good sign. It claims to store up to 600 scanned images before you have to dump the files off of it, and its expected battery life is 200 to 300 scans per charge. The SlimScan SS100 is a super-thin, credit-card-sized device that launched last month and currently lists on for $106. I had high hopes for the SlimScan, but it didn’t deliver. But for high-volume scanning, I wouldn’t rely solely on an app. I was impressed with all of the options packed into the JotNot Pro app, and would continue using a mobile app to scan when I have my phone and no other options. JotNot Pro can also easily convert the saved files into PDFs. I had the option to email the files, print or fax them, open them in compatible apps, such as DropBox, or copy them to DropBox, Evernote, Box and Google Docs. JotNot Pro let me enhance each file before processing it, whether it was a hard-to-read receipt or a file with lighter text and I could also adjust the contrast or add a timestamp to the files. Then it processed the image, and the text in the final file was clear and easy to read. After I snapped a horizontal photo of a business card, the app immediately found the edges of the card and cropped the image. I was at a conference last week, accumulating business cards and receipts, so it was a good opportunity to test the app. I began the scanner tests with JotNot Pro for iPhone, which was updated late last year and costs $1.99. Despite its larger size and $250 price point, the Xerox scanner was my top pick, because of its fast scanning and its wireless connectivity via an Eye-Fi card. The SlimScan scanner’s size was attention-grabbing, but the device and its software were problematic for me. And after five days of testing, it became apparent that the app was great on the go, but I wouldn’t use it to scan tons of files. The JotNot Pro app uses the iPhone’s camera to capture images of documents. I tested three options: The smartphone app JotNot Scanner Pro by MobiTech 3000, PlanOn’s tiny SlimScan SS100 scanner and Xerox’s new wand-shaped Mobile Scanner. This week, I set out to determine whether an app or a pocket-sized scanner with receipt-management software can really do the job of a larger scanner. Fortunately, there are plenty of portable scanning options out there, ranging from mobile apps to wand-like scanners. So this year I’m getting serious about scanning. I might write about all things digital, but when it comes to receipts and important documents, my record-keeping is analog amateur hour. Every year, come tax season, I curse myself. |
